Tell us about your career so far
I have over 30 years of experience in the staffing industry, with the last 18 years dedicated to the aviation sector, a field I am deeply passionate about. My background has been focused on supporting AMEs, mechanics, avionics and other skilled aviation professionals secure their next role in the ever-evolving aviation industry.
I then joined JMC Aviation in 2021, drawn by the company’s innovative approach and dynamic culture. What truly attracted me to this business is my passion for connecting with people, the fast-paced environment, and the opportunity to tackle challenges through problem-solving and strategic thinking. Working at JMC Aviation allows me to combine these strengths while contributing to an industry that inspires me every day. The continued expansion into North America has given me the opportunity to work in a role that is focused on both recruitment and business development, using my existing experience and fresh insight from colleagues to continue our growth.
What is the biggest challenge you perceive facing the industry?
The aviation industry faces several significant challenges, but one of the most pressing is the global shortage of skilled talent. This shortage is having an impact on a global scale, but it’s great to be working with a business that is looking for creative solutions to the challenge, with a team of professionals who are committed to ensuring both the customer and contractor experience are of the highest quality, whilst keeping such an important industry moving. As a recruitment agency we understand the fast-paced nature of demand and are experienced in supporting our customers complete their projects on time and on budget.
What do you enjoy most about your role at JMC Aviation?
There are so many things I enjoy about my role, but if I was to pick one, it is the ‘thinking outside the box’ mentality, and the collaboration between teams to ensure the client, contractor and candidate experience is seamless. As a business JMC Aviation is always looking at different innovative solutions for our clients that makes us a true strategic partner.
What advice would you give a contractor exploring their options for their next role within aviation? Get in touch with a member of our team in North America so we can get an understanding of your short and long term career goals, your values and your salary expectations. Our team can then match you with opportunities that closely match your skillset. We understand all aviation professionals will have differing skills and experiences and want to ensure we are taking individual preferences into account when matching your skills to our customer’s requirements.
What are the most common roles you are recruiting for?
Currently we have high demand for Mechanic, A&P, Avionics, Structure, Sheet-metal workers and painters. We work closely with our clients to understand their priorities and upcoming projects and can provide extensive recruitment support to fulfil their requirements, so would encourage all aviation professionals to get in touch to discover what opportunities we are recruiting for.
How do you most enjoy spending your time outside of work?
It really depends on the season! In winter, I love hitting the slopes and skiing, while summer is all about biking and enjoying the outdoors. I also cherish spending time with family and friends, whether it’s gathering for a delicious meal or sharing a great bottle of wine.
Interestingly, I’ve developed a bit of an addiction to plants—especially cacti! I find joy in caring for them and watching them thrive, which has become one of my favorite hobbies!
