JMC Aviation are working with an FBO company based in Stansted and Bishops Stortford, looking to recruit a new Manufacturing Engineer to join their team.
 
This client is well known for outstanding levels of service in their FBO facility. As a family run business with multiple decades of experience, they strive for excellence throughout their skilled workforce as they deal with in-house engineering and support services on business jets.
This is a Permanent Position based in Stansted/Bishops Stortford, 40 hours per week, hours are negotiable.

The Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to create Manufacturing Planning Instructions for military and commercial aircraft work. This involves translating customer drawings and bills of material into sheet metal and machined parts, sub-assemblies and top-level assemblies.
 
Other duties involve:
 
– Conduct contract reviews for all new and repeat orders.  
– Interpret customer drawings, specifications, quality, and regulatory standards into an Engineering Manufacturing Method.  
– Ensure all paperwork and documentation are logged according to company QMS.  
– Create bills of materials and routings for details and assemblies.  
– Plan and set out manufacturing operations.
– Raise internal route cards.  
– Raise requisitions for material and AGS procurement.  
– Communicate with customers and shop floor regarding engineering issues.
– Provide assistance and support to the Engineering Manager as required.  
– Decide on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage.  
– Amend planning sheets once issues are identified.  
– Work closely with supervisors and operators to achieve the best manufacturing method.  
– Liaise with Customer Manufacturing Engineers/Design Engineers to resolve technical and manufacturing issues as they arise.  
– Assist with the closeout of NCRs/RCCAs as required.  
– Provide assistance and support with engineering issues that may arise during production
 
 
Skills and experience required.
 
In order to be successful in this role the Manufacturing Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
 
– Right to live and work in the UK
– Have a degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering field
– Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably aviation, desirable  
– Catia V5 knowledge would be an advantage
