JMC Aviation are working with a surface treatment company based in Chelmsford, looking to recruit a new Production Operative to join their team.
This client offers a range of surface treatments and non-destructive testing, creating aerospace components using CNC Machines to fabricate sheet metal. This family run company provide an outstanding customer service and helping their employees progress within their roles.
This is a Permanent Position based in Chelmsford.
39 hours per week, Monday – Wednesday 0700 -1730, Thursday 0700 – 1630

The Role:
The Production Operative will be responsible for the identification stamping of all parts going through the factory to ensure we meet quality, regulatory and technical requirements
Other duties involve:
– To be trained in the operation of the IDENT Printer to print identification tags onto parts for traceability purposes
– Tap out Ident for titanium and steel pads and etch onto parts as required
– Application of any part mark overcoat (lacquer) as required
– Application of any system tape markings as required
– Printing of Ident Labels for components that do not require Ink IDENT
– Operation of Vibro Machine for part marking of Hawk components and various test pieces
– Competency in the use of Aerospace Markers for manual part marking
– Comply with quality and regulatory standards as set out in the relevant specification
– The above responsibilities will not be the primary role, but will be a daily requirement particularly in the afternoon.
– Providing support in all areas of the site to include movement of components between processes and Production Chasing for the production Control Department
– Adhere to health and safety requirements
– Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company
Skills and experience required.
In order to be successful in this role the Production Operative will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
– To show an interest in gaining knowledge and understanding of various customer specifications
– Ability to be trained in the interpretation of Engineering Drawings and measurements
– To be trained in the ability to understand processes contained within job packs and to ensure parts are moved on to the subsequent process
– Understanding of basic shopfloor health and safety
– Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferable
– This role is suited to an individual that is interested in being multi-skilled in various discipline across the site
– This role requires a 70/30 split between physically demanding work and cycle counting/chasing of components
