JMC Aviation are working with a surface treatment company based in Chelmsford, looking to recruit a new Paint Shop Supervisor to join their team.
This client offers a range of surface treatments and non destructive testing, creating aerospace components using CNC Machines to fabricate sheet metal. This family run company provide an outstanding customer service and helping their employees progress within their roles.
This is a Permanent Position based in Chelmsford.
39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday (07:00 – 16:00) and Friday (07:00 – 12:00).

The Role
The Production Operative will be responsible for providing leadership to the Paint Sprayers, issuing daily instructions regarding the workload as well as preparing and painting a variety of jobs in the Paint Shop Department.
Other duties involve:
– Organise all Paint Sprayer’s work schedules while working with the Site Supervisor to ensure achievement of agreed customer required deadlines
– Manage staff related issues in conjunction with the Site Supervisor/Operations Manager
– Manage and resolve any quality related queries with regards Paint processes
– Carry out paint stock checks ensuring paint is in date, first in first out (FIFO) is adhered to and liaise with the Site Supervisor to ensure replenishment of stock
– To be the single point of contact during audits and participate in any paint related activity required during audits
– Complete daily paint logs by the end of each day
– Ensure that all job packs have been fully stamped and address any inconsistencies with the assistance of the Site Supervisor
– To ensure a continuous improvement focus and assist the Site Supervisor/Chief Inspector with any potential quality related improvements
In order to be successful in this role the Paint Shop Supervisor will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Proven experience in an Aerospace Paint Shop background preferred
– Proven experience in the interpretation and understanding of job pack data and specifications
– Proven experience in supporting Aerospace related Audits
– Proven experience in specification review and corrective action
– Proven experience in team building and communication in a Paint Shop environment
– Right to Work in the UK already obtained
