JMC Aviation, a leading global aviation services company is pleased to continue their partnership with the charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF)
JMC, located at the International Office Park, Exeter Airport, will sponsor the transport service for patients attending the Haematology Centre at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E).
JMC Aviation is sponsoring three Volkswagen Tiguans which will transport blood cancer patients in Devon.
‘We’re now well into the second year of JMC’s generous sponsorship of our patient transport service and the impact this has made to patients’ lives is phenomenal. Many patients depend upon this service as they have no other safe or reliable alternative to get to and from hospital.
One family to benefit is that of three-year-old Sophia who, over the last two years, has made over 100 journeys in these vehicles. Sophia’s mum had to give up work to care full-time for her daughter, whilst Sophia’s dad continued to work to ensure the family could cope financially. The JMC funded vehicles became a lifeline for the family, safely delivering Sophia to and from her appointments. After two years of treatment, Sophia recently made her final journey with ELF, to ring the bell on the children’s ward after being declared cancer free.’
