Leading aviation fixed price engineering specialists, JMC have successfully completed a teardown for a client on an Embraer 190 aircraft in Portugal.
The trusted engineering experts delivered and fully managed the teardown process along with supplying experienced manpower and quality tooling to undertake the complex tasks. JMC managed the disassembly coordinated by their experienced technical team and engine specialists.
The teardown was a staged process to ensure that the aircraft parts were safely removed in accordance with the standard procedure. Around 1000 components were harvested from the aircraft, which took 3 weeks to complete. The aircraft hull was then processed and shipped offsite for recycling.
JMC’s Head of Engineering, Tony Eversden, commented: “This is another fantastic labour-intense project that our dedicated team has recently completed. With Brexit and COVID restrictions, the project faced additional challenges, and all involved worked diligently and meticulously together to overcome them. Our high-quality systems ensure it is a seamless process from complete aircraft to its components being vigilantly managed to ensure the end-product is of the highest quality.
The JMC team handled this project with great enthusiasm and diligence, placing safety and quality first. Working with our clients, the teardown projects enable us to react and best serve any associated market opportunity. We undertake assessments of aircraft under evaluation for future acquisition, teardown and component asset management.”
JMC’s Managing Director, Hollie Prendergast, added: “Once again we have proven our agility and capability to master complex situations especially whilst navigating our way through the COVID-19 pandemic.”
