Tell us about your career so far

I was fortunate to begin my career early, graduating from high school ahead of schedule and securing a job immediately after college. Since then, I have earned my M2 licence in 2021, along with endorsement courses as well. My experience predominantly lies in working on commercial aircraft, specifically the B737s and B757s, where I have been involved in both heavy and line maintenance. After seven years in the commercial sector, I decided to transition to the corporate aviation world. I am currently expanding my expertise by working on Bombardier Global aircraft.

What attracted you to aviation as an industry?

My passion for aviation took root early in my childhood. As a young girl, I was captivated by the sight of airplanes soaring across the sky. This
fascination played a significant role in my parents’ decision to immigrate to Canada. One of the most alluring aspects of this industry is how
aviation has revolutionized human connection. It has allowed me to meet some extraordinary individuals, not only within Canada but on a global scale as well the world. Moreover, I am inspired by aviation’s role in bridging cultures and economies.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome in your career so far?

Being a woman in this industry comes with its own unique set of challenges. A challenge that I’m currently navigating through is the underestimation of my skills and capabilities. Unfortunately, that’s a result of the gender biases that are still prevalent in todays society despite the significant advancements towards gender equity. But, I remain hopeful that, over time, we will bridge the gender gap in aviation and create a more equitable environment for everyone.

How has JMC Aviation supported you in your aviation career?

JMC Aviation has supported my aviation career by providing me the opportunity and freedom to travel across Canada. This experience has been
monumental in broadening my professional perspective and expanding my network within the industry. Looking ahead, my ambition is to leverage these experiences and eventually transition to international roles, furthering my career on a global scale.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in aviation?

One piece of advice I would offer to anyone considering a career in aviation is to cultivate adaptability and openness to change. Aviation is a dynamic field, characterized by constant evolution in regulations, maintenance procedures, and technological advancements. Embrace flexibility and view change not as a challenge, but as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
